Walks and Wildlife

Experience the raw beauty of our region where walking trails, waterfalls and wildlife provide one of the best ways to discover and experience nature.

Whether you walk, hike, trek or tramp the trails around Sheffield and beyond, including Mount Roland and Cradle Mountain, offer something for everyone. We have short walks of 15-30 minutes all the way up to full day walks of around 4-8 hours and multi-day hikes, including the Overland Track and The Tasmanian Trail.

The below map is a great starting point to research your walk, pinpointing the trailhead for our local walks.

Please read the disclaimer carefully to understand your responsibility while undertaking any walk in the region.
