The Makers Workshop

Burnie’s newest visitor attraction, Makers’ Workshop, is a place that honours Burnie’s history, makers, innovators and artists.



The contemporary Makers Workshop is a new concept for Burnie, part contemporary museum, part arts centre and part Visitor Information Centre. The information centre will help you find your way around Burnie and beyond. you can shop locally made gifts or check out the latest Tasmanian exhibition in the gallery. Try your hand at paper making or view several of the makers working on site, producing any number of interesting things. Stay and have a chat or discover what makes Burnie unique from the interpretive displays or appreciate the giant sepia images by Wolfgang Seivers, still recognised as one of the world’s finest industrial and architectural photographers. Or just grab a coffee and enjoy the view.
