Come ride the rails at Sheffields Vintage Redwater Creek Steam Railway!

Redwater Creek Steam and Heritage Society operates steam train rides on the first full weekend of every month from the original Sheffield railway station. Trains run every half hour from 11am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. This is a community project operated entirely by volunteers.

1906 Krauss loco & Tasmanian heritage coaches -over a hundred years old and still going strong! The only working Krauss loco in Australia!

Great coffee is now available at the new station cafe. You can purchase copies of the updated history of the Sheffield Railway on site.

Sample great tastes of the North West! Wines from local vineyards, olive oils, honey, sorbet, fresh fruits, berries, vegies, jams, breads, sauces, conserves, pastries, cakes and biscuits. Browse at the bric a brac, hand-made crafts, jewelry, pre-loved clothes, soaps, lotions, gizmos and gifts.

 Sheffield Town Hall Market  - 9am to 2 pm

Outside stalls along High Street plus stalls inside the Town Hall.

Seating available in the kitchen.

Stalls include:

State Rowing Championships -Lake Barrington

Rowing Tasmania will run the 2012 State Rowing Championships on the 18th & 19th February, 2012 at Lake Barrington International. For further information, check out Rowing Tasmania's website www.rowingtas.asn.au .

The Pure Tasmania Cycle Challenge will be held on Sunday, 26th February, 2012.

There are two ride distances to choose from; Devonport to Strahan - 219km and Cradle Mountain - 139km.

The two ride options depart on the same day from different locations at different times and finish together in Strahan in the afternoon. 

The Devonport to Strahan ride departs the Devonport Surf Life Saving Club at 6.00am sharp. 

The Cradle Mountain to Strahan ride departs the Cradle Mountain Chateau at 10.00am.
